and application of progress. Events like the arrival of the first
telescope, the advent of cars which changed the scene on the roads
- all these were recorded with an unusual sense of composition,
a bold endeavour by any standards. The flavour of Victorian India is such a contrast - the rich and the mighty surrounded by the "gee gaws". It is also history - so on to his photographic plates it went. |
